2025 2A Division II MVPs

Haskell improved from four wins to six and made the playoffs in year one under new head coach Creighton Henderson, and a big part of the jump was the play of junior quarterback Haegen Pinkerton, the 2025 Big Country Blitz 2A Division II Offensive MVP.

Pinkerton threw for 1,309 yards and 13 touchdowns and ran for 1,767 yards and 22 more scores as a junior this past season.

Players who were also considered for Offensive MVP are: Calhan Fairchild, Albany (36 rec, 662 yds, 9 td), Tyler Mackey, Cross Plains (1,023 yds, 14 td rushing; 9 rec, 147 yds, 1 td), Aidyn Lee, Goldthwaite.

Albany’s Tristan Howe dominated in the trenches this season and is the 2025 Big Country Blitz 2A Division II Defensive MVP.

Howe finished the season with 75 tackles, 22 of them for loss, along with five sacks and a pair of fumble recoveries. He was also named the District 7-2A DII MVP for his stellar play on both the offensive and defensive lines.

Others considered for the 2A Division II Defensive MVP were Hagen Greenway from Goldthwaite (130 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries), Walt Thompson from Goldthwaite (125 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 1 interception, 4 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery), Rowdy Holden of Hamlin (134 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 1 forced fumble), Beaux Shaginaw of Haskell (167 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and 3 forced fumbles), and Aidan Brown from Roscoe (146 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 1 sack, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery).
