Week 11 Rewind

Thoughts on the biggest stories in the tenth week of football in the Big Country.

BEST WINS OF THE WEEK

11-MAN

5: Colorado City: The Wolves got into the win column for the first time this season in a 42-12 upset of Sonora. That is win number one for head Colorado City head coach Danny Mejia. The Wolves miss the playoffs but earn a little bit of momentum heading into the offseason.

4: Comanche: The Indians will miss the playoffs, but they ended their season in style with a thrilling 43-42 win over Clyde.

3: Jim Ned: The Tribe claims another district title, flexing its defensive muscle in a 24-7 home win over Sweetwater.

2: Albany: The Lions led Hamlin just 7-0 at the half of their district title showdown, but turned up the heat in the second half to go on to win 33-0. Albany did not allow a single point in district, outscoring their five opponents 211-0.

1: Hamilton: The Bulldogs rallied from a 26-14 fourth quarter deficit to beat De Leon 27-26 and claim the District 5-2A DI title.

6-MAN

5: Roby: The Lions will miss the playoffs, but they end the season on a high note with a 74-36 win over rival Rotan. Roby ends the year at 6-4, which is their best single-season record ever as a six-man team and the first time they have finished above .500 since 2017.

4: Gordon: The Longhorns finally got to play their first home game of the season and clinched the district title to boot in a 68-0 rout of Gorman. Gordon enters the playoffs on a 39-game winning streak.

3: Zephyr: Make it four straight district titles for the Bulldogs, who got past Gustine 41-30 Friday night.

2: May: The Tigers clinch the district title with a 51-6 win over Jonesboro. May snaps a four-game losing streak to the Eagles in the series.

1: Hermleigh: The Cardinals avoid being the best team in the state not in the playoffs this season, upsetting Westbrook on the road 75-64 to punch their postseason ticket.
