Gordon Gets Past Abilene Christian in Home Opener + Photos

GORDON, Texas — The three-time defending 1A DI state champs moved to 2-0 on the season and extended their winning streak to 46 with a 61-16 victory over Abilene Christian Thursday night.

Jasper Clark led the Longhorns with 176 yards rushing and three touchdowns, and Keegan Hayes ran for 95 and two scores, threw for 56 and a touchdown, and caught two passes for 64 yards and another touchdown. He also had 12 tackles and an interception.

Gordon led 48-16 at the half and put the game away with two third-quarter touchdowns.

The Longhorns have what will probably be their toughest matchup of the regular season next week at rival Strawn.

Abilene Christian, now 1-2, hosts Plano Coram Deo next Friday.
