CISCO, Texas — The Cisco Lobos came out on top Friday night, taking down the Anson Tigers 35-14 in a physical matchup under the lights.
Anson struck first as Levi Diaz powered in a touchdown, and the Tigers took an early 7-0 lead. But Cisco quickly answered with Noaa Hernandez finding the end zone to tie things up 7-7.
Momentum swung when Anson recovered a fumbled punt return, but they couldn’t capitalize. Instead, the Lobos took control in the second quarter. Hernandez scored his second touchdown of the night, and later, Case Williams forced a fumble that led to a touchdown grab by Terrick Hernandez, giving Cisco a 21-7 advantage.
Before the half, Anson kept it close with a touchdown pass to Mario Barrera, cutting the deficit to 21-14.
The second half belonged to Cisco. A third-quarter rushing touchdown by Colby McIlroy stretched the lead to 28-14, and a fourth-quarter interception by Carter Toof set up Hernandez’s third score of the night, sealing the 35-14 win.
